The Arizona Community Media Foundation (AzCMF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed by concerned citizens who desire to provide access to independent, educational, community-focused broadcast media outlets serving Arizona.  We exist to provide a voice for traditionally underrepresented groups and perspectives unavailable within mainstream media.

Religious Broadcaster Opposed to AzCMF License Appeals to FCC, More Delay in Construction Permit.

American Educational Broadcasting (AEB) has filed an appeal of the decision of the Media Bureau of the FCC rejecting AEB's opposition to the license application of AzCMF.  After more than 1,200 days of litigation and waiting for FCC action, on October 18, 2011, the Media Bureau informed AzCMF, sponsor of Radio Phoenix,  that it was rejecting and denying all the objections and oppositions filed against the AzCMF license application.   AEB has filed for a reconsideration by the Media Bureau which will further delay final processing of the AzCMF application.  More

A group of students in an environmental design class at ASU have brought Radio Phoenix to YouTube after creating a colorful and informative display for the Phoenix Urban Expo at the beginning of December.  More

Radio Phoenix opens new studio at Phoenix Center for the Arts, 1202 North 3rd Street, Phoenix
After being without a studio for almost eight months, Radio Phoenix has found a new home at the Phoenix Center for the Arts.  For the last three weeks, volunteers have been moving equipment out of storage, taking down the two remote studios, and reassembling everything in the beautiful Phoenix Center for the Arts location at the south edge of Hance Park. More

Radio Phoenix expands over-air broadcasting to the East Valley on KVIT, 90.7 FM.
Radio Phoenix began broadcasting "Celtic Spiral" with Laura Davidson-Crowley and "Full Moon Hacksaw" with Tom Coulson on KVIT (90.7 FM), the radio voice of the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT), on Sunday, September 4, thanks to Steve Grosz, the lead teacher at the EVIT radio program, and Kaja Brown, general manager of Radio Phoenix.  KVIT has now added Pablo Gomez and his program  "Signal Flow" from 11 PM to midnight on Mondays to the Radio Phoenix roster at KVIT.   More

High school "Feet on Street" program enters second year; Hopi students win state-wide honors 
The South Mountain High School PSA Squad will begin its second year of producing free public service announcements (PSA's) to be broadcast on Radio Phoenix.  The students at Hopi High School, an affiliate school in "Feet on the Street" garnered numerous statewide broadcasting awards. More

Despite stonewalling, enormous lobbying gifts, and stiff opposition by the National Association of Broadcasters, the President signed the LPFM bill which will allow over 2,000 more local stations to be built.  More
